Sam Clover

Sam Clover (born Samuel Gagnon) is a 22 year old musician, composer, producer, music teacher and transcriber from Montréal, Canada with 17 years of experience as a musician and 8 years as a teacher.
Self taught by ear from the age of 5, Sam has always been hungry for musical knowledge.
From age 11 to 15, Sam started taking private piano lessons and band classes at a local private music school in Québec. He also began vocal lessons at 16 and discovered his high belting voice by imitating his favourites : Brendon Urie, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
Through time, he would use the piano to express creativity, and the voice for expressing raw emotions.
From age 17 to 20, even though he loved singing, Sam chose to study piano in Lionel-Groulx college in Québec. He was recognized by the vocal teachers during band classes and got included in some classes of the singing department as well.
He became recognized in college for his performances on the keyboard of two of his favorites jazz solos : “Lingus” by Snarky Puppy and “Got a Match?” by Chick Corea. He got his college degree in 2020 after 3 years of studying Popular Music Performance.
Sam is currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston in Professional Music, combining classes from the Contemporary Writing and Production major and the Film Scoring major.
"During the three years I have taught him, Samuel displayed great musical talents not only at the piano, but also as a singer, an arranger and band leader. His endless curiosity and tireless work ethic makes him proficient in many styles and I strongly believe that he will have a very succesful career as a working musician. "
